How to Delete Instagram (2022)

Here’s how to deactivate your Instagram account. And also how to delete it.

So Instagram gives you 2 options to deactivate your account:
You can temporarily disable (deactivate) or permanently delete.

– Delete your Instagram account, you lose everything. No way to get it back.
– Disable Instagram. This means your account will be hidden until you reactivate it by logging back in.

Warning, I have heard horror stories of people temporarily disabling instagram and then never being able to get their account back.

Go to your profile page, go into your settings, Help, Help Centre, (don’t bother searching “delete account” because they won’t show you what you’re looking for even though it’s obvious). Here, tap on the three line in the top right, Manage your account, Delete your account, choose your reason in the dropdown menu, select delete.
